So I, Castle Bravo, was playing a league game with Baton, TGR, and Laika. Toward the middle of the game was navy was still somehwat strong, but laika came down from the north atlantic and sea nuked me. I lost a pretty good amount of ships to the nuke spam. Here is the thing though. About 20 or so minutes after the attack i had technical problems in which my computer froze, and i was unable to continue the game. Because i quit the game i was accused of being a complete noob. They attributed this quiting to my being seanuked. i was continually harassed about being a noob and how i cheated by spectating even though this is very much not true. They accused me of pulling out my cables and therefore faking technical problems. Which i once again did not do. I find these accusations ridiculous and i think that continuous harassment on defcon should be banned. Then they said i was playing noobish when my silos were launch(hint i wasn't really there to sync the launches). i could have prevented or deterred some of these things from happening yet i wasn't there to do anything about it. I think that this is harassment and should in fact be banned. I don't really complain much, but i feel like i am hated.

You left when things got tough and cost us a victory. I was especially pissed because we waited ages for the game, and it was shaping up to be a good one.

Anyway, it's too bad you feel harassed but I don't think anyone cares about this enough to ban.

Are there recordings available for league server games? If yes, where? I want to learn...
With the same intention: I understand league servers are for experienced players only to guarantee at least some skills... it would be a nice feature of these servers if spectating could be allowed openly. So noobs like me could join maybe after the game has started to watch and learn something. This is of course not connected to the special case discussed in this thread, it is a more general idea and I do not know if this is possible or not.

So league servers are SFCON servers. Didn't know that.

Sounds good that spectators can join, after a game has started. However, in my experience thsi is not the case on all servers. Maybe on SFCON league servers yes on others not, I will pay attention to that. Of course that's my fault, I always have difficulties to sort out the different servers.

Ok i can agree that it was in fact not harassment and that i did overreact, but TGR once again stated that i left because i was getting my ass kicked, which i did not do. i know it seems like it appeared that way, but why would i ragequit and then take the 10 minutes just to reconnect to the server, and when i said that i saw everything you guys said, i didn't mean to say iwas specating and watching Baton and laika chat, i was saying that isaw that you left like right before i finally connected up enough to be able to get back in the game. i just found it completely ridiculous and utterly stupid that you attributed by quitting to getting my ass whopped when what really happened was my computer froze. (I have an HP G60 that has battery problems and freezes on occassion). So i was just mad that you guys kept saying i was cheating, whne this was not what happened.

It makes no difference to me, I won't be playing with or against you until you can:
A: Hold your own against other League players.
B: Finish an entire game, start - finish.

Relax, it'll be better tomorrow; or at least next week.

If you're getting crushed, and you feel it is hopeless, the honorable thing to do is just ride it out or say "gg" and quit. I, of course, never do the latter (:D), but many of my opponents do, and I respect that.

But too much is made of the distinction between dropping and disconnecting. Sure, they are technically different, but some people get so wrapped up in the ego aspect that they do indeed fake a drop. On the other hand, however, there are completely innocent disconnections as well. For example, when you get so lagged out it is just best to quit and attempt to rejoin. Looks like a disconnect, but it is practically speaking a drop.

NOW, my paranoia harbors one other scenario as well; namely that an opponent, by the way of some dastardly manipulation, can somehow get you to drop. Of course this is just wild speculation, but I must say that I never seem to drop when I have a clear advantage and the opponent is already screwed, but only when my dropping will turn the tide decisively against me.

Here's a recent example: http://sfcon.demoszenen.de/dcrec/2012-07/2v2RandomAlliances-2012-07-27_13.45.zip. All silos scouted and all I needed to do was launch my subs. But instead, I dropped and my subs were screwed. (Curious point in this game: my opponent makes a comment on the time-length of my "client" lag. How would he even know this measure?) Point is: I never seem to drop after completing such a sub launch or the like! Something is just not right with those probabilities ...

So, again, it's just speculation, but I have this nagging feeling about drops ...

And Castle, the dude that calls you noob today will be kissing your arse in some futuire 2v2 for saving his skin.
