If you have a Bigfoot 2100 Killernetwork card and you're getting the crash when you join a multiplayer game, you need to set priority to 3(normal) in the bigfoot settings for the game.
Double click the bigfoot icon in system tray.
Click Applications.
Find Defcon in the list, you may need to untick "Show running only" to see it.
Click Defcon in the list and select priority 3.
Now your game will work.
The problem is that when you install a game, Bigfoot usually sets priority to 1, for most games this works with no probs, but there are some games including Defcon that priority 1 causes issues, so set 3 and you're good to go.
