DEFCON Soundtrack released on iTunes

Postby Mark » Wed Oct 17, 2007 4:41 pm

Introversion can proudly announce that they have teamed up with indie record company Sugarstar to release the DEFCON soundtrack via iTunes. The re-mastered soundtrack is in 8 parts and stands proud as an album in it's own right. The DEFCON music was such a great composition that we really wanted to introduce it to non-gaming music lovers and our partnership with Sugarstar has enabled us to do this. The DEFCON soundtrack was composed by freelance musicianAlistair Lindsay and Al continues to work with us on the audio for Multiwinia. Information on Al's other work can be found here.

So, is this different to the CD soundtrack from your store? I don't have/use/want iTunes, but if it's different, I want to own it. I still enjoy listening to the CD. It's great!

Great job! Perhaps this will attract even more people to the wonderful universe of IV!

That's an amazing soundtrack, but all songs can be downloaded for free (and legal) already.

PS: Ironically, I'm currently listening to possibly the best soundtrack I have ever heard: The Paprika theme song. But this is a game, of course, not a movie.

Some of these songs are DEFINENTLY going to be in Part 2 of The All-American Mobster! By the way, why are there more songs on iTunes than on the soundtrack?

$9.99 on iTunes. I just checked. Theres only eight tracks, $.99 each, but one of them is album only  So i would buy the whole album on iTunes.

Yes, but they can also be bought from the IV store. Alternately, one can download the Defcon demo, and extract the .ogg files free, as well.

The CD can be bought from the IV store, yes, but you can't download the songs from there, right? That was sort of the point I wanted to make. But you're absolutely right, it doesn't really matter.

Might i bring up a point i brought up earlier before? I asked what is the difference between this eight track iTunes CD, compared to the CD at the Introversion store with only three tracks?

Five tracks? :P

More seriously, it looks like it's at least 15 minutes longer, which means there's certainly new stuff on there.

I don't own the Darwinia soundtrack or the Defcon soundtrack but the first time i loaded Darwinia, the opening music was far catchier and better than anything else i've heard from I.V, forget the Defcon soundtrack, go the Darwinian way 8)

So has anyone bought it off both iTunes and the Defcon store? How similar are they? Basically, need I buy the iTunes version if I already own the CD version?

(Quite apart from the fact that I should be supporting Introversion more. :P )
