Darwinia week on AllAboutGames

Postby Chris » Wed Mar 02, 2005 5:01 pm

Games website AllAboutGames is running a series of articles this week dedicated to Darwinia. Currently they have a competition to give away 5 copies of the game (with the easiest question in the world) and an interview with Chris about Darwinia. Still to come later this week they promise an article about independent games developers, a review of Darwinia, some screenshots of the game, and of course the close of the competition. Have a look here.

We've added another bunch of content to the Extras page - this time it's a number of short articles and stories about Dr Sepulveda and his company Darwin Research Associates. Some of these were printed in the game manual as part of the backstory, but we couldn't fit them all in. And one of them in particular was just too damned hilarious (read:highly offensive) to even consider printing in the manual.

We still have loads of content waiting to go up in the Extras section...it just gets better and better. Some of this stuff just can't be released before the game, so there will be a bit of a wait, but you're going to love it.

Our hardest working employee Will Morris started shipping the pre-orders early this week, and the first people have begun to receive them. If you placed a pre-order you should be getting it within the next few days if you haven't already received it. We are shipping from Glastonbury UK, so USA orders may take a little longer.

Two days to launch....oh my god!

Woo! Yay! *Runs into a wall* etc.

So how hyper are you guys in IV then? All butterflies in the stomach and whatnot? Sleepness nights spent discussing the future/wasting time and money on playing City of Heroes?

Also nice stuff in the extras section.

Easiest question in the world eh? Well, it is now, but it wasn't before! I made them change it by being a smartarse.

I think the question has the benefit of making people who don't know about Darwinia or IV go and look it up - and maybe they'll discover how good Uplink is too...

Besides, the easiest question in the world have been to ask you to name the game ;)

Oh, and has anyone spotted Chris' typo? :)

AHA! I owe that man a drink for service above and beyond the call of duty! Getting the game on the Tuesday before release was a very nice surprise. :D

Competition is only open to residents of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Bah. There goes my clever scheme of hoarding copies.

It's just amazing to see all these sites giving Darwinia (and Introversion) so much publicity. (And it most certainly deserves it.)

The new content on the extra's page is great too. Those last two are hilarious. :D

There does appear to be a slight error in the sidebar for the extras page which may be a result of this update:

"adverts" should be in that slot, which appears fine for me.

Which browser are you using?

Ah, that would do it.

Using safari, with an ad-blocker plugin. Ignore that.
