Cant change resolution or window mode

I try to change the resolution, or put it into a window mode, it says it needs to restart, i click "shutdown" the game closes. I open it back up and its still the same. I have version 1.55 on windows vista

There might be a problem with permissions. It sounds like the game is trying to modify preferences.txt to set the screen size and fails.

Hmm, I just realized, I haven't played uplink in a while, so I don't remember if it has a preferences.txt file, but it should have something similar.

Just checked my uplink install folder, and there is an "options" file there, although it's not a text file as I thought it was. Don't know what else to do to help you, sorry. Maybe someone else can.

Edit: There should also be a debug.log file there. Check if it says that it saved the options successfully.
