Not really a bug report, permissions problems in linux 9.10

Postby ststephen » Mon Mar 01, 2010 6:35 pm

Ok, I don't consider myself a Linux noob, but I cannot get the DEMO 1.55 to work.

Here is the output:

kris@kris:~$ sudo sh uplink-demo-1.55DEMO.sh
Verifying archive integrity... All good.
Uncompressing Uplink demo 1.55DEMO...........................................................................................
./setup.sh: 281: /media/kris/.setup10019: Permission denied
kris@kris:~$

This is the game I have been looking for. Until I can confirm the DEMO works on my machine, I cannot buy it. Please help. Thanks for the help. CANT WAIT! I have been scouring the forum and Google, but everything I try does not help.

Running Kubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala
The machine is higher end, don't think I would have any problems hardware wise.

Thanks!

Hi

Post subject: Not really a bug report, permissions problems in linux 9.10

It can seem trivial but it's important to know that (GNU/Linux != Linux != Ubuntu)

For your problem, I would need for some infos. Could you :
- go to the dir where the installer is and give us the result of the 'ls -l', the 'ls -ld' and the 'pwd' commands
- give us the result of the 'ls -ld /media', the 'ls -ld /media/kris' commands

bye
