Graphics problem // Ubuntu 9.04 32bit

Postby arl » Mon Jul 06, 2009 3:07 pm

Hi all,

I have just bought the game and installed it. After installing libgtk1.2 the installer went straight to the end.

But when I start the game I am missing some graphics. Please see below.

I reconize the following message when running the installer (dosen't matter if it is the full download game or the 1.55 patch):

Verifying archive integrity... All good.
Uncompressing Uplink complete 1.54DOWNLOAD............................................................................................

Gtk-WARNING **: Failed to load module "libcanberra-gtk-module.so": libcanberra-gtk-module.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

My System is an fresh install of Ubuntu 9.04 on a IBM ThinkPad X40.

Best regards from germany

[quote]This looks like something to ignore. It's only from the installer, the game itself doesn't use Gtk.

The really important question here is: what is the graphics processor in your laptop, and which driver do you use?

Hi,

It is an Intel 855GM GraficCard. I use the default driver which is shipped with Ubuntu 9.04.

Best regards
