Financial Data Mission Bug?

The mission ask me to open an account and get its balance, so i hacked into the system and got the password for the person specified,
but when I use it on the Manage Existing Account option the password doesnt work??
Help?

You need to login to the account using their account number as the login, and then whatever password you have.
Once you get the balance you just reply via email.

Actually, that's exactly what I did.

See, thing is, it works fine with other similar missions, it's just this particular account that does not wrok.

Ok well let's gather some information about the version of Uplink you are running. Is it the latest patch for example. Is it a download version, steam or the IV store, or a disc bought version?
Do you have any mods installed, and so on?

Latest patch, disc version, had a couple visual mods.

So patch 1.55 then, and disc version, bought from Introversion or Strategy First?

That'd be your problem.

The latest patch is 1.55. It does not work with the Strategy First version of the game. That version of the game was sold without any royalties going to IV and as such it does not work with the new patches versions. I'm sorry to say there is nothing else we can really offer you here, short of saying purchase the actual version from Introversion.

Indeed it is unfortunate, but Strategy First decided to do what they did, so Introversion did the only thing they could in response.

Worst thing about it is it leaves players in the lurch, like yourself.

I'm having the same issue with the Steam version of the game. The pattern seems to suggest that any password with an "l" (L) in it is bugged and does not work.

If someone has a solution, please let me know.

I've figured it out. The character is not an "l" (L), it is a foward slash (/). That may be the issue with the OP too.
