Try getting the latest video and sound drivers and delete the openGL32.dll file in the Uplink directory if there is one.  Uplink (and the Demo) work fine on XP, though some have problems with SP1.  :)

Ok, I already updated my drivers for Audio and Video the other day I do not have SP1 installed for various other reasons such as Battlefield 1942 not loading when installed, I do however some other fixes from Microsoft Update just not the SP1, It doesnt even load the game it gives me

A Fatal Error has Occured in Uplink
Please report this to the team by sending the file /uplink/users/debug.log to
chris@introversion.co.uk

Uplink will now shutdown

I deleted the Opengl.dll too that doesnt do anything

Post the debug log here, atleast the last entry.  It is in the Uplink->users directory.  :)
