When set to fullscreen mode, uplink resizes my main desktop. This
is *VERY* annoying, as my main desktop is at 1600x1200, and the
whole reason I want to use a fullscreen mode is to see nice big
letters in Uplink without messing up all my other programs.
Having all my other open windows resized is *really* inappropriate
behaviour on the part of a game, and makes multitasking very
difficult.
Running in a window just makes things near impossible to read.
Please either have Uplink run fullscreen mode in its own screen like
every other game, or offer font size options.
Thank you.

Just about any app that runs either openGL or D3D resizes the systems output, meaning you're desktop, I can think of view games that don't, it depends on how they're made, but it's generally a pain to do otherwise. Halflife does it, HOMM does it, MM6-8 do it, Deus Ex does it I think, Red Faction does it, Jedi Knight II doe sit...freelancer doesn't I don't think but that's about it. Now, a lot of games let the resolution snap back when minimized, but I don't know if anyone has noticed but full screen uplink doesn't minimize unless you hit the minimize button on you're quick bar, at least in XP anyway. When you hit that, everything is page cached for quick retrieval, meaning no resolution changes will generally occur, so it could be because Uplink doesn't actually minimize when you alt tab or whatever.
