Cliques, Castes, and Divisions

I have noticed a 'caste' system in defcon, as well as cliques (which i am no stranger to) and thought it an interesting social breakdown online, skilled vs unskillled noobs being 'jumped in' etc etc etc, anyone else have any thoughts on this?
