Which is more likely to be true, loop quantum gravity or string theory?

Currently, Strings. Though they seemed to have burned themselves out in the 90s.
I believe that LQG and M theory (the god of strings) are aspects of a broader more abstract theory which has yet to be discovered.
The trick is quantum gravity. Einstein told us that gravity is not really a force per say, but a result of the geometry of space time.
Unfortunately, in a quantum world, this doesn't really fit nicely. Quantum is all about quantization and discrete, unlike Einsteins spacetime, which is smooth and
continuous. Any quantum theory of gravity needs to approach General Relativity in the classical limit. LQG has trouble doing that while Strings does, though Strings require a god awful about of extra dimensions, which seem to not be here in our universe.

It is said that all matter the universe consists of are the leftovers of an unequal generation of matter and their anti-matter counterparts. For like 1.000.001 'pieces of matter' there is said to be only 1.000.000 'pieces of anti-matter', which annihilated each other shortly after they are created. How is it possible to estimate that 1.000.001:1.000.000 distribution and is there some theory that explains that unequal generation?

Explain to me the relation between quickscoping and quantum mechanics and how they can help me improve my 420 dank levels.

To Rad:
An excellent question !
Simple answer: we don't really know.
Long: There are many plausible explanation. There could be pockets of anti matter galaxies far away isolated from normal matter, bu no substantial amount
has ever found. The energy created by the antimatter matter million to million and one annihilation is evident by the CMBR (cosmic microwave background radiation). As to why this imbalance... could be a small quantum imbalance at the beginning of the big bang, or perhaps hyperinflation or proton decay. If anti matter was found out to deviate just a little from regular matter (in anything but electric charge), that would be huge. No evidence for the later yet. The cool stuff in physics, and science in general, is the stuff we don't understand.

To Max:

For the uninitiated readers,
The Fermi paradox basically says: If the probability for life is high in the universe (see Drakes Equation), where is everyone?
Great food for thought. There is really no one answer. Here are some points:
1) Perhaps were the first ones. The fore bearers of the universe. It took this long for stars to crank out the complex elements that were needed for life.
2) Humanity are pretty young, we have only been listening for only 100 years or so.
3) Space is big. Like Holy Fucking Balls Big (HFBB). I can't stress how big it is. Its just... not fesable to travel anywhere. Not with our fastest propulsion.
4) Perhaps faster than light (FTL) travel is actually impossible and thus see point 3.
5) Perhaps all intelligence comes to a point of existential crisis and blows themselves up.

Is there (intelligent) life out there? Undeniably so.
Will we come into contact? Probably not. Not for very very long long time.

I wish they did though...

What is the best way to acquire super powers? A bite from a radioactive spider; a large dose of gamma rays; being super rich; or have a nazi inject me with a test tube of super human strength?
