[suggestion] Revival of two old Deployment enhancing ideas.

Postby McLumberjack » Fri Oct 03, 2014 5:01 pm

Blowing the dust of a couple of things from way back in... um... *checks* September 2013. Man were we ever so young. I think these two would be more useful than ever with the two new security levels and an increased need to keep certain inmates away from one another. .

1. Painted Lines. (link to original thread)

For dividing deployment areas without the need for walls or bars.

2. Mixed Security Zones (link)

Self explanatory, I hope.

Basically by covering your prison in paint and using the deployment tool you could quickly and cheaply chop up your areas to ensure inmates will take different routes, without the current Tetris problem of having all those different fences and corridors fit together without blocking prisoners in.

Mixed security was suggested twice this week only.

I am really for the Lines. Looks awesome and to divide them in the canteen. Brilliant!

Whelp, yeah. But to my mind it doesn't reach it's full potential as a concept until you can neatly divide zones up, otherwise it's nothing but headaches with prisoners getting trapped out of vital facilities because they can't walk through a cell block or something.

I like your suggestion- I think it would be a good way to be able to fine-tune deployment.

And don't mind Jinxed- he is quickly building himself a stellar rep on these forums.

Is there a feature report on mantis for the paint-line dividing the zones already?

Er, nope. I didn't think mantis was for that sort of thing?

There is the option to post a new report as a suggestion/feature.

The more I play the more I want this, or something that does the same job, so I added it to mantis for more visibility:

Throw in your support if you fancy it, and hopefully it'll get noticed.
