Staff should be deployed by trucks

Staff should be deployed by trucks
I love this game, alpha 25 removes the boring state when you have too much under control. However I would like to make it harder.
Becase staff can be deployed instantly you can solve any situation just buying guards and placing them in the middle of the riot, scape or fight.
Very easy suggestion to make it harder, staff should arrive:
1) Only by bus
2) Only during daylight
3) With some hours delay
This way, without planning correctly your forces you can fail.
Hope it helps!

Re: Staff should be deployed by trucks
I really like this idea... in fact I made a mod to sort of get around this. But I agree, staff should be delivered like prisoners... by truck and on a schedule. That being said, I believe Administrative staff should still be spawned in.
Re: Staff should be deployed by trucks
good thinking, could even introduce a Theme Hospital style staff personalities, laziness, hard working, etc
Re: Staff should be deployed by trucks
I think that is a good idea. I already use a home rule where I only place staff at my prison entrance (except for warden, accountant, etc).
Re: Staff should be deployed by trucks
i think staff shouldn't be delivered on trucks, like building materials...
who here ever started a new job after they were dumped at the worksite by a big lorrie?
prisoners should arrive by prison bus or police van
staff should arrive by public bus or personal car
visitors should arrive by public bus or car
anyone leaving should do so by relatively the same means...
if your workday end you don't just disappear or walk off into oblivion?

Re: Staff should be deployed by trucks
The point isn't what type of vehicle they arrive in... but that they shouldn't be allowed to just appear out of thin air.
Whether it be a lorry, school bus, police van, Mystery Machine or Delorian... the vehicle type at this point is not the issue.

New item: Bus stop would be nice for aesthetic reasons....prisoners get released they go stand at the bus stop and wait for the bus (buses generally run every hour or 2 irl) same with visitors..they arrive by bus and leave by bus...c'mon how many prisons are in walking distance of anything? lol i visited Grafton in ohio and its located out in the middle of nothing....marysville female pen (ohio) is also pretty much in the middle of nowhere

Re: Staff should be deployed by trucks
"in the middle of nowhere" is not always the case. Canada's supermax prisoner is right in the middle of a residential area. A small town with a population just over 14,000 people. The town is surrounded by a few other bigger towns which are very easily accessible by foot.

I like the idea of a bus stop, either city transportation or a shuttle bus could be imagined to drive past there.

Re: Staff should be deployed by trucks
Great idea. They will arrive by bus and if you need them quickly You can pay for taxi or something like that.
Re: Staff should be deployed by trucks
A bus stop, with buses running every 2-3 hours to drop off new staff/visitors, and pick up released prisoners sounds great.
Admin Staff could go either way. If they were to be handled by buses rather than spawn-in, then it'd be nice to have easier means to manage them, rather than unmarking and re-designating offices so that they go to the newest one created. Actually, for doctors and especially chefs, it'd be nice to have a way to assign them permanent posts, anyway, such a system could also be extended to admin staff and then they could arrive by bus/car, too.

Re: Staff should be deployed by trucks
If Admin Staff are included, then I recommend lowering their research times. I don't want to have to spend 6 hrs researching a staff member to then have to wait an additional 3 hrs for them to arrive by bus.

The OP only has 1 post under their belt... my guess is they don't even have access to the Developers forums to see that thread existed.

I wasn't criticizing. I was only attempting to shine a light.
That being said, this is exactly the kind of discussion that *should* be on the developers forum, and the OP really ought to have been posting there, instead.
