Alpha 17- dog bug

Postby BugPowderDust » Fri Jan 31, 2014 4:00 pm

Anyone else seen this bug- want to verify before i report it:

I had 2 Dog Handlers when Alpha17 came out. At their first 'exhausted' cycle, the dogs and handlers return to the kennel room but then just lie in the doorway:

..they never get up again  poor dogs

By sacking the Handler, the dogs wake up and behave like a released prisoner- wonder off forlornly to the outside world, wondering why the world was so cruel

I then re-employ 2 handlers, but exactly the same thing happens. Anyone else seeing this?

Yes, this is happening to me as well, i already created a bug report

The only way i've found to work around this is to drag the Kennel room over the dogs that are lying down, this way they'll walk to their crate, however this doesn't fix the problem so you'll have to do it over and over again :(

I had 5 that got stuck in a doorway. I deleted the wall and put in large jail door and they worked their way through and into the kennel. No others have gotten stuck yet.

Looks like this is a zoning problem, as pointed out in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=43&t=47159

I set the zone from Staff Only to open or shared, and the dogs were fine then

Setting the zone to shared fixed it for me too.

I guess the poor doggies don't think they're staff.

It seems to go away when the entryway is more than 1 space even if the staff doors are there. Just demolish a single section of wall to make the doorway bigger.

Changing the door to a regular door did the trick for me

Apparently dogs were given a property of "STAFFF" in the materials.txt file which may be causing the issue. It should read as "STAFF."

Happens when you zoned an area as staff only, due to the buggy materials.txt the dogs have to stay outside.

I get the opposite problem. The handlers seem to get suck in the kennel without dogs. It seems like the dogs get killed but it happens really frequently. It seems every time I check there's 3-7 like that >< I wonder if there's something else going on...
