Any way of having the Cam Stations being able to control doors in a section of the Prison the Camera is in? i work at a jail but it works pretty much the same, they have different areas for different inmates, alpha is for new arrivals Quads is for ones that have been there awhile, in Alpha there is a station for guards that look out at inmates in their common area they hang out during the day but there is a computer they have that lets them unlock each inmate cell without having to walk up to it and use their key
Quads has a lot of inmates and Subsections but it has it as well but has a station that lets them unlock doors as well, then there is central control that has access to all High secturity doors and when an intercom button is pressed at each door central control can look at each door to see who pressed it and lets them through if they have clearance
with the Central control you can put up more high sec. doors and let staff move a bit more freely, the remote unlockable doors the jail uses are comparable to the solitary confinement doors in the game, but in the jail i work at all the doors are like this and are remotely controlled even the inmate cells, the public area of the jail has standard doors and staff areas are key card controled

Re: [suggestion]Remotely Controlled Doors
sounds good
for low risk prisoners - the doors are not controlled by guards or locked by guards - so prisoners can have own key to their cells which called open prison
but some prisons have Old fashioned doors - Guard goes to each door to unlock for prisoners to be let out from cells but to lock them in - guards go to each cell to close and lock but there is intercom in each cell
in some prisons - prisoners stand outside the cell door if its closed and remote controlled then prisoner shows number or raise the hand to guard and guard presses the button to open cell door and prisoner enters and guard closes or prisoner closes the door
but also some places have Slam door equipped with remote controlled - example prisoner stands next to door and puts hand on handle when door beeps - prisoner opens the door on own and also he can shut door
also ability to override the controls - guard goes to cell door and inserts the key in lock and unlocks
in some areas - prison corrdiors shared with staff/prioners usually have standard doors with keys but sometimes controlled by central system
also abitly to control elevators (some prisons have that)

+1 for realism...we are in a digital age....not to mention prisoners have access to computers in some facilities

Yeah, I'd like to see it done as a type of bureaucracy though, possibly quite an expensive one but which would save you money in the long term.

Re: [suggestion]Remotely Controlled Doors
well the jail i work at has a section called " intake" that they use to screen the new people coming in, when they are in the system they are dressed in the Orange colors and shuffled down a hallfway to Alpha, on the left side of the hallway is a sliding door that cuts Alpha from the hallfway and when you go inside its 2 floors of cells around a Squard setting and in the middle is are tables all the Alpha inmates sit and eat their meals and sit and watch tv that are up on the walls out of reach
on the right side of the hallway is Quads, it has 5 different sections Bravo ( sex offenders and mentally Challenged) Charlie (( High risked and inner sealed cells for solitary confinements)) Delta (( inmates that have been there for over 5 months)) Echo (( work release))
and Foxtrot (( female inmates go to this one))
all the Doors have a Keyhole to be opened manually but with the remote controled doors it helps keep guards more aware around them instead of having to Rush and unlock a door so the maintenance man can get in
i had to split this topic with the video visitation thread i made to, since its two different topics

I think it would be a good idea, especially once you have finished building most of your prison that you can turn off the option for guards to open doors and control them all remotely from a 'control' tab.
