[Suggestion] DEATH ROW :D

Postby Kadzi » Sat Nov 09, 2013 5:19 pm

Death Row has been suggested before but here's how I think it should work out:

1. High Risk (or even a new category: Death Row) prisoners come in, they should be quite rare and only have 1 or 2 death rows at a time.
2. Instead of their date till release it should be a date and time until death.
3. 1 or 2 days before, the prisoner is transferred to a special 'death row cell'
4. The priest escorts them to the death row cell with 2 cops.
5. The prisoners spend 1 or 2 days in the special death row cell.
6. When the time comes, the priest does some actions and they walk to the chair (other methods could be made, that'd be fun)
7. They sit in the chair and if the chair is turned off, you must turn it on, but there should be a power switch that the guard can turn on.
8. The priest does actions with his hands (like a cross or something) and the guard 'talks' to the prisoner before walking over and pulling the switch
9. The prisoner jolts a bit for about 5-10 seconds
10. The priest transfers the dead prisoner to the morgue and then the car comes and picks him up

~-~-~

Death should also be a punishment instead of solitary confinement and lockdown, for example, if a prisoner kills a guard or someone it's automatically death. and they follow the same procedure as above.

SOUNDS AWESOME !:D

To be honest, prisoners in Death Row will never riot...

But hey, the main priority is to add thousands more features in-game, wait.

That is never going to happen. As has been noted every other time this topic comes up, prisons don't get to sentence anyone. Courts do that. Prisons simply carry out the sentence. Thus prisons lack the authority to execute prisoners as a punishment.

1. It would be death row inmates, they're a separate classification from other prisoners.

2. Agreed, also there should be a 5 percent chance that the prisoner will be proven innocent and released before then.

3.-6. I'd prefer having them be in a death row cell always, perhaps a choice so that you can select how the executions will work? For example; Transfer to death row cell 36 hours before execution, guards assigned to prisoner for transfers: 3, priest allowed to interact with prisoner: No.

7. It's likely that you will have to install the switch and make a guard do it. I think that in the future all switches and valves will have to be activated in game by your workers or prisoners.

8. That could be interesting, it'd add a nice bit of detail.

9. Agreed, at least for the electric chair.

10. A doctor or guard would do this, the priest wouldn't be hauling corpses.

Extension: Death is not a punishment that can be handed out, it'd be better to follow previous suggestions and have your lawyer lobby for a sentence change to death row. The more you have and the better they are, the likelier the chance.

I have conflicting emotions about you implying that different methods of killing humans are fun.

Might as well get used to it, the majority of posts where the OP includes the suggestion to execute as a punishment are going to talk about how fun it would be to kill a bunch of prisoners for causing trouble.

2 Things I can't do in real life:
Have ultimate power
Kill things

With death row, this would neatly wrap up those two things. I mean, why WOULDN'T it be fun killing cute little sprites? :D

Because this isn't Call of Duty. The idea is that we actually care about our decisions, they're moral choices. It isn't a 'bang bang bang bang, reload, bang bang bang KILLSTREAK!' kind of game. When you choose to put your prisoners in a plush 7 star hotel or the lowest gate of hell then you feel the impact of those choices. The only way that the game has, so far, gotten close to players feeling that impact is the tutorial. It's simple but yet quite deep when you consider all the optional objectives.

You should have your own control, if you want to give them bad lives and enjoy it, do it.

But not control about life or death, this is beyond stupid.

This is a prison "sim", not, as mentioned above, call of stupid.
Executions should not be "fun", they should confront you with a serious topic and make you think - just like they did it in the introduction.

Adding execution as a punishment for shits and giggles is like addling light-sabers to CoD. Seriously, what the hell goes on inside your mind for this?

a flood of Ideas come to mind when I think about death row.

First off, the penultimate experience is the use of the electric chair. love it, or hate it, it's a major facet of the prison system today, and I believe that there are a lot of things that could go into managing a set of death row inmates. Integrated into a prison, I think these would offer a challenge for large and small prisons alike.

1) income
High profile death row inmates will require special attention from staff and as such would garner higher prisoner grants.

2) Rooms
Death Row Cell block: Higher security, akin to solitary confinement but offers better cell conditions conferred through requirements. Death row prisoners won't be allowed to mingle with gen. pop.
Prison Libraries: Allow death row inmates (or gen. pop) to research their appeal. Get stays of execution, shorter sentences, maybe even lessen the "freedom" need.
Prison Chapel: Hire priests for the condemned, as well as allow gen. pop the ability to go to the chapel during free time. This should do something to reduce danger levels.
Warden's office: Small change to require a phone to receive stays of execution.

3) events
Protests outside your prison when an execution is about to occur. This could have impacts on visitation, deliveries, all kinds of things. Maybe news vans that show up?
Higher danger levels as a prison approaches the time of an execution, but then afterward, a longer duration of lower danger levels.

4) Staff
Priests as mentioned above that are assigned to accompany the condemned to the execution chamber.
Maybe repurpose the lawyer to work on appeals for prisoners,
Modify cooks to deliver meals to death row inmates (they won't be allowed into the gen. pop)

Yeap, very good ideas indeed. I think the same and I would love to see it implemented. :D

Prisoner who are already in death row basically have nothing to lose. Prisoners that have nothing to lose are the worst. They accepted the fact that they either dying in prison, or have to spend there entire life behind bars/in prison. Therefor; that category should be riot material. Death Row prisoners are one of the highest security prisoners for that fact alone. It doesn't matter what they do, they are in death row..
