Emergencies and evacuation
As of now, when there's a fire, there isn't much you can do but to unlock the sector and hope the prisoners and staff run out, unfortunately this doesn't happen too often (at least not in my prison) and a lot of people end up dead.
That's why i would like to share a couple of suggestions about additional emergency procedures:
Additional deployment options
Handy for smaller, local emergencies
1. Lockdown: Lockdown all doors in a sector, basically the opposite of the 'unlocked' state.
2. Evacuate All: Evacuate all staff and prisoners out of the sector to the yard or pre-designated evacuation zone if available.
3. Lockdown and Evacuate: Evacuate all staff except for guards, when no more unauthorized staff is present in the sector, all doors lock.
Additional emergency procedures
For prison wide emergencies
1. Fire Alarm: Sounds the fire alarm, all cell and cell block doors unlock, prisoners will be handcuffed and along with all staff evacuate to a pre-designated evacuation zone or when not available, the yard.
All family visits will be suspended and all family members currently present will follow the same procedures as everyone else, for their own safety off course .
When a staff member or prisoner pulls the fire alarm (this object has been suggested before) a warning icon similar to the 'guard in combat' warning will appear at the respective alarm,
this gives the player the option whether he/she wants to activate the alarm or not, as a prisoner can abuse this for escaping or causing chaos. Whether the player can choose to activate the alarm or not can be an option at the start of a new prison.
2. Evacuate Staff: All staff members except for guards will gather at a pre-designated evacuation site or when not available, the delivery zone.
