Incorrect. Badges are a ruler by which you can measure the length of your penis. Near as I can tell, the serve no other purpose. :P

EDIT: paktsardines, I think I finally just figured out what you are on about. When the badges were first implemented, I seem to recall that there was an issue, in that the badges were not displayed if you had not logged out, then logged back in again. If you are having a problem, you might try that. The other issue could be that the PA forums don't count toward your total (these boards are a bit hacked together, so it is plausible).
