Separated Regimes for Different Levels of Prisoners

Postby Shinotama. » Sat Mar 02, 2013 7:29 pm

I was thinking about the idea of having a separate regime depending on the level of security for the prisoners? This could also potentially include or exclude people on solitary confinement.

The purpose in this could be that you can choose to run the prison based upon the level of the prisoners you have, if you so shall wish to have maximum security in with general pop or minimum security then you can choose to have any type of regime from 23 lock up for the maximum security prisoners and then this will not punish the lower level security prisoners by abiding to the same regime.

I think this will allow more macro control of the prison, this will also allow you to start breaking up the prison into different sections such as 'S.H.U.', Maximum Sec, General Pop, Minimum Sec and even, if they introduce it, administrative etc.

I think I saw another post somewhere where it sounded like they might already be heading in that direction.

It seems like it would cause major chaos in the kitchen, though, unless mealtimes are shared across all regimes (which would be fine, especially if you can designate canteens as a certain security level or combination).

There is that or you could additionally create more kitchens and assign them to certain wings? Either that or just have Piére actually work for his money.

Well they'd still be making the same amount of food so if you staggered the schedule with maybe an hour or two in between each meal time then the cooks could pick up all the trays and get the next batch of food out by the time the next group of prisoners get there.
Yes, that is a penguin with rabies. Deal with it.

I would really like to have different regimes, but I think they should be assigned on each cell blok. That would give you more options as I see it. You could have different regimes for different categories but also manage the yard better, and have greater flexibility with common areas. It might be hard to house different categories of inmates together if you wanted to have mixed cells. I just think it would be better. In the end I would just like to have as much customisation as possible with the regimes.

excellent idea and something i have been thinking about for a while.

the major benefit would be that resources would be shared, making it much more like what you would expect in real life. after all what prison has a shower for every single prisoner, or seating in the canteen for all at once.

I think perhaps a hybrid of the suggestions here might be the way forward.

Permit additional regimes to be researched by the warden for an incremental price. Each new regime can be assigned to a given block or prisoner category from the deployment screen so you can have either a high level assignment based on the category of prisoner or you can have a much more granular assignment based on the individual buildings in your prison.

This would allow you to have a mixed inmate environment with a flexible level of control based on what you wanted to do. An adjunt to this would be the idea that there should be a finite number of regimes that could be permitted, maybe six? Six would allow for one per category and three spare for any special arrangements you wanted to make.

I still think a separate regime depending on the level of security of said prisoner would be the way forward.

But then you gotta start thinking about prisoners that are on 24hr solitary etc.

On the subject of allowing for different Regimes for each security level of prisoner, I think that we should also be able to place specific security levels under Lockdown/Bang Up separarte from the other levels. This could be done by just locking down the specific rooms marked under Deployment.

I like it - This would stop the max sec guys scaring the hackers and library book stealers. Also means you could concentrate your guards in one area when Hannibal gets taken for a walk :)

Well I was watching through these series of prison lock up videos on youtube all about American Prison systems etc, they sometimes even have separate yards for them etc.

It'd be nice as well if we could have the option for another level of micro and have guards personally escort and/or be beside a specific prisoner during different/all the times of the day. You could control that through the separate regimes. I think it'd be nice to tell one or two guards to follow the guy sentenced to death a week from now considering it's not like he's got anything to lose in an escape attempt or violent incident.

Or post a permanent guard on Drippy McFear, the guy with three Misconduct (Murder)s on his sheet and a crazy look in his eye. Provides a possible alternative to keeping him in permanent solitary.
