Thoughts on maximum security prisoners

Postby christopher1006 » Thu Jan 31, 2013 2:24 pm

I decided to go ahead and attempt to build a maximum security prison just because, I mean why wouldn't you? 53 prisoners later all was going fairly well regardless of a few scuffles leaving some prisoners and gaurds with cuts and bruises but nothing of any real damage. I altered my regime slightly to account for more prisoners and by shower time the little men in red suits decided it was time for a bloodbath leaving 4 dead, 15 needing medical attention, 3 in lockdown and 4 in solitary. As entertaining as that was to watch are we going to be able to have a better method of pulling the leash on them? Anyone else who's been messing around with max security prisoners what do you all think about them?
Yes, that is a penguin with rabies. Deal with it.

With issues like that I would suggest stationing a hell of a lot more guards in the shower area's.

That is what I had to do to deal with the massive increase in the violence that followed the arrival of max security prisoners

Well, that's weird, I was about to say I haven't noticed any increase in violence yet since letting only max security prisoners in.

Often I will find shower time to be the tipping point, so I never have shower in my regime, just freetime, since the prisoners will wash themselves if they feel they need it during that time.
This prevents a huge crowd in the showers every morning.

I find that the prisoners randomly spawn with item more randomly because it seems like my metal detector keeps blinking. Most of my Prisoners have the violent trait and it seems like they start fight all the time while I am not watching. I have not even got my Max security and its already hell.

As long as you have room and supply the shower head with water yes.

But the queues and priorities are messed up on prisoners, so they will go shower in someone else's cell rather than their own.

I wish I knew this before making 40+ extra large cells to accommodate showers.

Havn't dabbled in Max Sec prisoners yet, had a nice long game with minimum sec prisoners and a fight breaks out once every two three days. Apart from that it's easy pickings.

Going to give max sec a go tonight, should be a nightmare from what I've been reading :p

Which is part of the fun. Its just a little more tedious when the game's performance has yet to be optimized. :D

It is, my all-max prison had the first murder on day 2 even with only 12 inmates and 10 guards.

I do like that a free-time regime dosn't work on high sec prisoners. Some of them have needs that rise so fast they're wanting to kill on intervals of 6-8 hours.

Sedatives? Not gonna happen, concussions are cheaper.
