Darwinia number 22 in PCG top 100

Postby AgentX 24 » Thu Aug 03, 2006 12:24 am

Surprised that this isn't on the forums yet, but I got my copy of PCG today and there was Darwinia number 22. Uplink was number 99 as well. Nice one Introversion!

Yay identical posts!

I have my copy as well, and a scanner, however, PCG (rightfully so) were a little annoyed when I put the scans up of the magazine that was still on sale, so this time I'm going to wait until the next issue is out, or PCG give the ok. It's their magazine afterall, and they seem to love Iv, so I'm listening to them! :D

I'd buy a copy if there were anywhere in this backwards town that sold it. I might go into Wigan at some point and pick up a copy.

Darwinia has been a big hit here in Atlanta, Ga. I find copies everywhere now. I even bought a new one for the key chain.

Say...I'd like to see those scans too...

To appease you, Screenies I have not but what I do have I give you.... text

22) Darwinia
Release: 2005
Last Year: 21
Your primary units have virtually no AI. You have to directly control them at all times to blast back the viral infection you're fighting. Luckily, this is enormous fun: the digital pink worms screech as your lasers scorch them white-hot, snakes and eggs crumble in the glowing blast of your grenades, and when a torrent of your rockets slam into a Soul Destroyer's head-section just as it swoops down to destroy you, its enormous flying body shatters into a thousand neon polygons.

99) Uplink
Release: 2001
Last Year: 92
Beep. Beep. Beep. The awful sound of your illegal connection being traced in Uplink still haunts our nightmares. Despite being all interface, with no graphics to speak of, rerouting your modem through servers dotted across the globe is more cinematic than the pixel-shaded polygons modern games fling in our face. It's a matter of fidelity: if you were hacking into a bank or government database, this is what it would look like.

Buy the magazine though cause its good and has a preview of Defcon in it.
^^Another amazing comment/statement/question/answer/joke/insult/compliment^^

Based on the date of the original post, I would say August 06.

The issue would be September 06, as for some strange reason the name of the issue is a month ahead from when it is published. Isn't that right?
