Darwinia coming to Xbox Live Arcade?

Postby ic1male » Tue Jun 06, 2006 8:12 pm

Is this true? People are murmuring about it elsewhere on t'Internet. Does anyone know if this little gem will be ported to the Xbox 360 Live Arcade?

That's the scuttlebutt around here, but as of yet, I believe, there's no official statement yet as to that fact. Mark saying that they were going to talk to MS about it was televised in an interview, and a photo was seen of MS's E3 presentation with IV's logo allegedly (it was a bit blurry) shown on a projected slide referring to Xbox Live Arcade, and independant developers.

Go nab the Imperial speach video, and snap it to 33 mins in. You'll hear Mark say the following:

Mark, at Imperial said, not wrote:...We've got enough money to start looking into mabey a PSP version or mabey a X-box Live Arcade version. We are talking to Microsoft and Sony at the moment...

The logo is definitely there, but it could mean that Defcon will have an Xbox Live Arcade version, not Darwinia. Hard to say, and there has been little to nothing in the way of official comment.

To be honest, I'd rather see Darwinia on the Wii's Virtual Console. I prefer the gestures over the icon system, so I think the Wiimote would be cool for drawing them.

That, and I have every intention of buying a Wii, and no intention ever of buying any Xbox, whatever huge number they stick in front of it.

considering that this conversation started exactly the same as one on another thread we can only conclude that daset has been replaced by a Xander stalking chatbot, unlucky Xander :P
