Does Darwinia have CD protection??
From another website
http://www.fileforums.com/showthread.php?t=68721
I bought this game, and installed it from the cd, as opposed to playing it from the cd, which was another option. Now I've not come across any such message, and I'm well into the game without the cd being inserted. As I installed the game from the Desktop (27mb), the cd was not present, and so if any cd checks had been made, then I presume I would have seen the above message, and had to re-install from the cd. Does this mean the developers themselves release a 'triggered' version of the game onto the Internet. I also scanned the cd copy protection, and couldn't find any, so now I'm more confused. Do I need to re-install the game from the CD? I don't want to get way into it, only to discover some trigger messes my games up.

There was a rather lengthy discussion of possible ways to protect Darwinia a while ago and in the end I believe most people came to believe that flooding P2P networks with fakes like this one was the best way to protect Darwinia (simply annoy the pirates enough that most of them will simply not bother).

You mean when we started flooding the p2p networks?wardrich wrote:Hahaha, it's a good idea, actually. It's probably cheaper than copy protection, too. Does it happen right at the start?
That started before the game was released.

It could be like an extension of the demo? since it lets you play two levels... neither of which are the demo level (Mine)
That makes a total of 3 "free" levels you can get
