Postby Darwin00uk » Mon Mar 07, 2005 11:18 am

I'm getting an average of 30Fps on the bigger maps, with all graphics and sound settings maxed out.How does this compare with other peoples machines on this forum...

my decidedly underpowered rig..

Max is about 45, on the more processor intensive levels it can drop to about 15

1.7ghz Pentium-M
512MB Ram
128mb Radeon 9700-M

Edit: Running at 1400x1050, all graphics at max but with pixel effect disabled.

Stupid computer... no AGP slot...

Hmm, maybe my onboard Intel Extreme Graphics would do a better job? I disabled it because it's incompatible with Uru: Ages beyond Myst.

Here's what it's called in Device Manager...

Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller

EDIT: Perhaps in would run better on a lower resolution? that'd be easier to do.

Your Geforce maybe shit but its alot better than your onboard card, dont swap em!!

Drop the resolution ,if its not already 800x600 use that.

Its called an upgrade. Seriosuly, try it, junk what crappy MoBo you've got and get one that has a AGP slot.

I get a steady 10FPS on the larger maps with my:

AMD Athlon 2600+ 333MHz FSB
512MB DDR RAM
Geforce 5200 128MB
Luvely onboard sound
1024*768

With the Pixel effect off, it goes to a constant 60 FPS (Thanks to Vsync), but I'm hoping to upgrade and get that back... It simply doesn't look the same without the dissolving look on my Squads. And before you say, yes I know the 5200 is the bottleneck...
