On the contrary. I read all your posts. And I did not mention postcount at any time.

Post-count shouldn't matter. Also it is useful to keep in mind that there is a diffrence between being a newbie to any internet forum instead a long-time veteran of mutiple forums.

Sure I've got a, what, 27 post count here, but am a long-standing member of multiple of forums, so do I count as a newbie? This also stands for other people. If you ask 'newbie' questions like "how do I get a bold text style," then that's a newbie to forums. Flaming 'veteran' newbies and even green newbies is going to kill off the forums.

I think we covered what the difference between n00b and newbie is a while back before the Uplink forums changed to their current settings, if I recall it went something like the following.

Newbie: Someone who is new, unknown, and has yet to really intergrate themselves with the population of the forum.

Noob: Someone who asks simple questions they could have found the answer to by just reading down the list of posts, or perhaps reading a FAQ. Generally known for annoying the general populace of the forum, or flaming other members for no apparent reason.

While I may come under the class of newbie on these forums, I am an old timer from Uplink, as many here will know.

I do believe that from that line and on, the thread has basically been sealed and done.

Oh and as for the difference between "n00b" and newbie is that "n00b" is some ego-filled kid's idea of trying to be cool by speaking the retarded&defunct newbish "leet speak" because he thinks its just so vet-ish to do.
And newbie is how it is written by a (somewhat) more mature person who actually knows how to speak english.

I think there is a word like lamer, at least in Polish, which is a good description of a n00b. Note that a lamer is not a beginner.

4/\/|)____|)1|)____U____$4Y____T|-|4T____|_33T____T4|_|<____
1$____/\/3\/\/|31$|-|____?

1____3\/3/\/____/\/\4|)3____/\/\Y____0\/\/ /\/____|_4/\/G|_|4G3____!

Congats to anyone who can read the above.

Um, if I unfocus my eyes this is what I see:

$4Y - say
T|-|4T - that
T4|_|< - talk
|_33T - elite
/\/\Y - my
4/\/G|_|4G3 - english

So...
"<word> did you say that elite talk <word> <word>?
I <word> <word> my <word> english!"

Okay then, now going back to my life...

As a lurker, I don't know what to make of this post. Such xenophobia and immaturity, Stealthblade. And some of the responses afterwards aren't much better. I can see there are people on this message board who are rational, but this doesn't look like a community I'll be hanging around with. Thanks for the heads up, Blade.

Well nobody saw my true intentions so i left the topic and it came to alot of bullcrap. My true intentions were to give my opinion on how some people act stupidly when the info can be found on darwinia's website so easily.

Anyhow i hope you don't base your opinion about this communityaround this one thread.

That's true, it gets much worse, the deeper in you go. If every thread was as good as this one... Ah, the dreams.
