You install maps for Steam the same way than for the retail version. The only difference is that the Multiwinia folder is inside the Steam folder.

By default: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\multiwinia

Just create the folders data\levels inside that and place the file there

I'm a little confused...

Postby TheRileyDuo » Mon Oct 06, 2008 5:17 pm

Is the game like a normal 4 player game, but with futurewinians thrown in, to dominate? I don't really want to duel the futurewinians, but if I could try and play the futurewinians off of my opponents, that would be really fun.

I'm thinking that if you tweaked the crate drops, it could be really fun. Maybe if you could spawn some team viruses more often, then the average player would stand more of a chance.

Here's a small description text that I think fits the map:

"No one knows where the futurewinians came from. Some of the multiwinians say they're a new darwinia from the soul depository. Some say they're the original darwinians who left in the first rockets so long ago. Whatever the reason, one thing is clear: they can now build their own terrain."

Just something I threw together quickly. Obviously, I have to play the map first, so I don't think it matches the mood of the map very well. Plus, it's very cliche. Oh well. What do you guys think?

Ok. Sorry for the double post

Yeah. playing against the futurewinians is pretty fun. But if you can make it a 4 player game + the futurewinians, that would be cool.

If you don't have the directory already, just create it.

and what to name it, and where it will show up in the game

I can't be more specific about where to put it.

It's just the txt-file, but it in that directory, and leave the name as is.

It should show up in the proper gamemode menu. In this case, I believe it would be Domination.

I lost in the last minute.

In my case, the Futurewinians got an Armour.

Then they got a dark forest, and put it over my starting spawn.

Then Green got a Meteor Shower, and put it in the same spot. Incredibly, it missed ALL of my Multiwinians, but...

I didn't lose because the Futurewinians killed me, I lost because my last spawn (still shielded) got set alight.

What the hell? I'm playing as Green and where I start a bunch of futurewinians immediately took over my spawn point and I was eliminated...

Try a seventh. After the sixth, of course.

they said leave the filename as is. Meaning, don't name it. It's already named. And other posts said exactly where to put it, and then you have to make the folder called "data" because it's not there. The folder "data" that is.

It's silly really, ALL the instructions are already in this thread. All that is left is for you to enable remote desktop and give us control of your PC so WE can do the work you seem incapable of doing yourself.

Not to be cruel but damn...... It's like reading a sign that says, "This way" then asking, "Which way?"
"Now, stop being a douche to the newbie, and run along."

If you need that much direction, you shouldn't bother.
