Sweeping selection for Multiwinians

Postby bert_the_turtle » Tue Sep 23, 2008 12:13 pm

Here's the idea, borrowed from Pikmin if you so will:
As you hold down the left mouse button to get that circle selection thing to get the attention of a batch of Multiwinians, the selection center currently stays fixed. How about if it instead moved with your mouse pointer? You could then sweep up troops spread across a larger area, for example those you have arranged to storm a turret camp from all directions, or those who spread too far while you were not paying attention.

Yes, this would be very handy... and I don't think it breaks the whole micro thing too much. Either way, having to wait 5 seconds to select each circular group makes staging pincer movements hard.

Agreed.

Either that, or increasing the maximum size of the selection circle. Huge armies are fun!

Sounds good to me. Those few little stragglers at the coasts can get mighty annoying at times.

How about double left click for the maximum sized selection circle?

Personally, i don't find the current system that bad... I mean, it's part of the game !

It's like demanding 30-people teams in starcraft, it doesn't make muche sense

While that is certainly true, I think there is definitely an element of 'feel' here. I have the notion that this would feel somehow very satisfying - it always was in Pikmin. ;)

I absolutely agree, I have problems with the small selection radius all the time, I really hope IV changes it.

Funny when ever I play the statue game mode I think of pikmin. I hope for sweeping selection as well.
