Hacking movies
Did anyone see that movie Firewall? what'd you think?
Some of the movies that involve some sort of computer hacking (that term is being used VERY liberally in some of these films) I can think of:
Sneakers
The Net
Hackers
The Matrix
Mission Impossible
Swordfish
Johnny Mnemonic
Lawnmower Man
add to the list! what is your favorite?

How about Ghost in the Shell? That's about hacking people's heads, making them do things to free an AI.
This might be a stretch, but Disney's Tron might count as well, since Flynn keeps trying to hack into a corporate system to prove he created the company's hit game.
BTW: I have seen Wargames and The Matrix and have them on DVD, so I'm OK. I also have The Net 2.0. Haven't had a chance to watch it yet, but it sounds much like the original Net.

AntiPatik wrote:well i have seen just 2 hacker movies, Hackers and Takedown (you know, Kevin Mitnick). I must say, I like Takedown better, 'cause hacking is so unrealistic in Hackers and in Takedown, you can see a true life of a hacker on run.
According to a lot of people, Operation Takedown is quite loosely based on Kevin Mitnick's life.
I don't know what's true or not, but most people say a lot of things he does in the movie never happened.
