Guess who's back!

Postby Me300 » Fri Sep 02, 2005 11:08 pm

Hey everybody!
So, what's happened in the past 2 1/2 months since I've been gone.
I sure do have a new outlook on life now.
It was rewarding and challenging at the same time.
Zero Day sucked, and as soon as I get the opportunity (please forgive my poor spelling, I got about 15min of sleep last night), I'll post some pictures and some video from it.
It's good to see the forums again though, and nice to see a new BCE, finally.
At 1815 CST, I board a flight into L.A. and then at 2201 PST, I board a flight into Monterey to learn Hangul.
I finish AIT on 16AUG2007.
The world sure is different now, though.

Welcome back, not much has changed, although we seem to have fewer trolls as of late.

Well, as good as it is to be back, I probably have to give up my computer tomorrow, or maybe not, because my schooling doesn't start until 26SEP. i hope I get to keep it. You wouldn't believe how many people here at this hotel are coming up to me trying to buy me drinks and shake my hand and stuff. I even had someone salute me. For the entire 9 weeks that I was at basic, the only thing we had for current events, and yes we did have a current events board, was "YOU SUCK." I hope I never have to see E Co. 2d Bn. 10 In. Reg. 3d TNG Bde. again. All we ever heard from our Company Commander was "You suck Echo." It fucking sucked there.

Wow.

The Presidio of Monterey is nice.
There's always a Drill Sergeant on duty, but they're a lot nicer than they were in BCT. The bad thing is that they're all career intelligence, so they can play mind games with us like none other.
DS Heyde, said that this place is going to stress us mentally and emotionally like no place has stressed us before. I can't wait to see what that means.

They took my laptop from me, along with my CD player, but that's only for 4 weeks or whenever i make it to Phase V, whichever comes last.

Until the 26th, I get to do such fun things as PT, mowing dirt, and picking up branches. How exciting.

Just checking in on the community after a refreshing 45 min run through the streets of Monterey. Some people here were real jackasses to us, but there were several that thanked us for all that we are doing for our country (absolutely nothing at the moment). I kept up about a 9:05 mile pace. Can't wait 'till Phase V+, cos I can get a motorcycle.

So how was everyone's day?

A nine-minute-mile's not bad over a distance! Have you been working out?

Is it just a sterotype, or do they actualy shout all the time in american Basic camps?
If Barbie is so popular, why do you have to buy her friends?

I think there's a lot of yelling involved. All those pictures were taken within 1 hour. And here's one of me about 6 hours ago.

Small world. I'm at the Presidio myself learning a language. I've been here a bit longer than you, though. :D Good luck.
