My biggest HACK ever!

Postby Crashin__Burns » Wed Dec 01, 2004 12:51 pm

it was like this...
I accepted a mission that would trace a recent bank transfer... after i traced the account, it lead me to organic internatonal bank. ihacked into their system and listed all of the accounts and passwords. to my surprise, when i opened each of the account and found that there was more than a million in each account. I then transferred all of these account to the account with the largest amount which was around 45+++++. when i checked this account again it all amounted to 17++++++. As always, i get caught whenever i transfer money from other account to mine. So with much anticipation as to how to hack successfully, i went here and read in the hints and tips area about how to hack succesfully. And was i thankful when i read that i have to delete the transfer logs of both accounts and the bounce logs in the InterNIC. Now, I'm a rich man with 18++++++ money, at least in uplink world, and a skill of Mage.

this is one of the posts that I would fill with blahs, but I don't feel like it right now. Wow, you hacked a bank, you make it seem like it's never happened before.

Oh, cut the guy some slack, he's managed to do something in the game, yes, others have done it before him, but it's an achievement. I think you're allowed to be proud.

I sure was when I did it. 80 Million credits in 30 minutes is not to be sniffed at!

In my usual overexcitedness when I manage something quite difficult, I went "Oh, cool" when I found my rank shot up from a bank hack. Then I found I could repeat the effort. Then I found that with gateway price editing, and bank hacking, I never had to do that goddamned test mission again!

Bank hacks are fun when you can still find uses for what you gain. I believe your score stops increasing from money in the patched versions.

Nice going. I remeber how I felt when I managed to pull off my first big bank transfer (around 4.000.000 credits). Quite a feeling, i must say.

Same. I also remember when the first time when I received a message from Uplink saying that I was caught and they took away my gateway, etc. Quite a feeling, i must say. =)

Heh. I remember my first bank hack. It was fun. What I found to be a bit more fun was emptying 5-7 bank accounts at a time, and then trying to cover my tracks before getting caught. I've only got it to work once so far, but one of these days I'll get it!

No, it still increases; just not as drastically as in 1.0. There's now a limit to the score you can possibly get from money. I just don't remember it now (it's written in the patch text somewhere).

My 1st bank hack wasn't actually for a large sum. I just took an average bank, and cleaned all the accounts in it.
Only later I doscovered that if I take a mission to trace an account, I can find gigantic sums like that.
But still, it's mostly pointless, because I think you can buy the entire market with a million or 2. So what for do you need 20 of those?

Yeah, then you go, buy all the software in twelve seconds, all the gateway upgrades in forty, sit around listlessly for half an hour, and then start your agent again, vowing not to hack banks 'cause it's crap. :(

Quite a feeling, I must say :P

When you can hack any bank without a problem, you know it's time to move on. Like a mod or something.

When you hack banks without a problem, you should consider creating an inflation mod.
