Update 22/12/2006: Space Mod - Six Player!

Finished, you can download it here http://rapidshare.com/files/8486689/space6.zip

The includes both the new map and my space units mod in the same folder.

It still needs a few changes, like more cities, for the best results play with the number of cities at maximum so that all will show up. Also it's hard to see where the borders are unless you click on territories, so i may add some borders using the coastline.dat, not sure yet.

And player colors like green are hard to see on green planets, it's because your units are camouflaged... yeah thats it, camouflaged. :D

That is extremely cool.
I've updated the mods page to include the new space mod instead of the old one.

I agree -- this was very well done. :) Though caveat -- you end up playing some LOONNNNG games with this mod, since it takes so long for the naval units to get anywhere. But quite fun.

Yeah, my friend played a game of this with you the other day. It's an absolutely amazing mod. My only complaint with this mod (other then all the small technicalities) is the fact that there aren't many others who play it. :(

This mod goes great with Speed Defcon by the way. Loads of fun.

I made some small changes to the mod, only graphical one, fixed a few things up like the background stars, made it easier to see what mode the carrier is in, and added borders.

None of the gameplay/map files have been change, so it should be completely compatible with v0.8 of space6, which is why I decided to leave with at v0.8.

I have changed the link in the first post to this one http://rapidshare.com/files/8486689/space6.zip

It doesn't matter which one you play, they both work the same, just this this one looks slightly better (I think)

If there are any problems post here and i'll try an fix them.

Thanks

Have you thought about changing the fleet shapes at all? Because it can't just be me that finds it difficult to differentiate which is which when I am looking at them ingame.

Taste the rainbow. It tastes like pain.
