Hi, I have a question about the DevCD.  I recently purchased the Linux PlayStation 2 kit (LinuxPlay.com), which is quite good actually.  My question is, does the DevCD come with the full source code?  And can it be compiled under linux?  I want to compile it to run on PS2 linux :)

EDIT: I have no intention of modding it, I just want to compile and play it on my PS2.  Long time PC Uplink gamer here, just interested.

Thanks :)  Yeah, I see it now, teach me to read the FAQ before posting.  Not quite sure how it would be done as apparently it needs Uplink installed to compile, so I would probably need to cross-compile it on Windows (As the PS2 has a completely diferent architecture) then copy it over to the PS2.

Screw it, I think I'll just buy the damned thing and see what I can do with it.  Chris, you have an order coming your way. :)

You need the full version of uplink to play a compiled uplink, because it needs all the dat files. These are the same for Windows and Linux, AFAIK

Good look with your project!

I see, so it doesn't rely on any actual Uplink executables, just the data files.  So technically I could just install on Windows, copy the data files over, and compile on the PS2.

Well, I have no idea about PS2 linux, but it's worth a try

Also note that you'll have to contact Chris about this if you want to distribute it

I've no intentions on distributing it.  The license agreement prohibits me from doing it (Yes I read it).  This is purely a "for fun, just to see, it would be cool" kinda thing.  I've never actually developed for the PS2 before, so it's a new experience for me too. :)
