It can be funny to read some of the things people claim they ahve done in this thread.  I have no doubt some of it is true, but some of it obviously crap (*cough* hello prozac *cough*)

=This shit is serious from here down btw=

A naked guy just stumbled into my room, said hi to me, and passed out *face down* om my bed.  Fully naked.  Ie I can't ever sleep in that bed again.  All I can say is What The Fuck...

Edit:  All I'm saying is I'm glad it was dark in my room [I live in college and apparently the guy lives in the room below mine.  Yes, I'm pretty sure he was either drunk, stoned, or both]

bgreen rofl, thats a good one to tell the kids when your older.

But abck to the topic, seriously those who piss around on computers at school are looking for trouble. Take it from someone who actually has been there and faced the consequences, emm twice rofl

While in high school i got quite nifty on the computers, a bit of sam cracking here and there, a little bit of egistry hacking etc etc. Screwed up got caught got kicked out, so with virtually no grades i decided to head out into the big wide world, decided i would try my luck at college, that truely sucked ass, as the admins dont like you pissing about witht here comps either, so eventually got *asked* to leave so i did. Now for any future in education i will now have to travel about 90 miles to the nearest city, which in the long run sucks a bit.

But if you wish to be like me, the super god like role model, stop pissing about with crappy hacks like your doing. Go for SAM's, crack those sam files, have you not yet realised how many users actually there are, hundreds, possibly thousands. Now once you have a suitable list print them off to each printer in the school.

Now you get kicked out of school, enjoy!

Also, screw you mcallister(he kicked me out) and Mike of Falk College, you are the most ignorant loser on this planet. For those who dont know, mike actually believes that there is such a thing as Air Gap security.

Getting back on to topic...

hows this for bad security: at college, your username is your swipe number/college ID (mine is s3138 I think) and everyones password is set to 123456 by default, and we wern't taught how to change them (well, the comp sci teacher told us), so at least half the students are going to keep 123456 as a password. A quick look at the register, you can get their swipe number, and hey presto, you have a log in. Honestly...

In my college, if you get caught, they delete your file and thats pretty much it. However, getting back to college today, I found out that a virus had hit the entire intranet and wiped out the whole thing. You'd think admin would be more careful wouldn't you?

Thats the thing about school IT admins, they really hate you outstaging them. Here's what happened to me:

Being my inquisitive self, i decided to take a look at my schools security.
(South Holderness, don't know if you heard of it)

So after getting very bored of my student account, i had a look around the filesystem i had access to, went somthing like this:

C:-------|
           |----that workstations stuff i.e /Windows

X:-------|
X:-------|-----Network drives
X:-------|

A:\ ---------- Floppy drive

On the network drives, there is a "users" subsection, containing every user in the schools personal area
(a folder with subfolders for the subjects that person takes). The names of every folder was the username of the person who owned it.

Browsing through the system, i saw a user named "print", which was the controlling name of the printers in the school. I was hit by a thought:

Considering how thick sysadmins here are, they won't have changed the default passwords for this kind of thing!"

So, i logged out and started trying a few comon passes

2003......nope
SHS........nope
print.......YES!

how easy.

I looked at what i had access to: everything!

I was amazed at their stupidity.

After having my fill, and very nearly giving in to the insatiable urge to exploit the control panel six ways from sunday, i decided to do the good thing and cover my own back.

I walked up stone stairs to the IT staff office and asked to see someone:

Teacher/Sysadmin: "What d'you want?"
Me: "I have somthing you should know about"
Teacher/Sysadmin: "What?"
Me: "Well, i have discovered several security flaws that,
if exploited , could prove quite dangerous to
        network stability and security"

He looked severly miffed as i explained to him, giving me VERY Mucky looks. When i finished:

Teacher/Sysadmin: "Well, we already knew about that,
                                but thanks anyway"

As i left, feeling quite smug, i got the feeling he didn't know...... since within a week, i saw this posted on the side of the printers:

"ALL PRINTERS NOW WORK WITHOUT A COMPUTER, BUT TEACHERS CAN STILL VIEW THE PRINT QUEUE BY...."

I'm just a Junior in Highschool, and lately I was told by several friends about an exploit in fortress (some security program that sucks ass).  If you went through the current browser, file, open, browse, right click on an icon, and click explore, you had practical computer administrator rights, with a few exceptions.  You could delete anything "BUT" the Principles account, and the Vice Principles account.  We're not doing much, but I felt inclined to tell the Sysadmin up in the IT office.  I showed him on my account and he started telling me: "Try and delete this" or "Move this to here."

I deleted files he asked me to delete, which you reall shouldn't have access to in the first place, and I moved several files.  All he had to say was: "If someone messes up and fucks something up, we're comming after you."

Kronus, after I told the teacher about one of the security holes, someone else exploited it and I was the one they came after

Well, they won't exactly come after me. The IT instructor that I spoke to was my eldest brother's friend, from Highschool.  I don't think he'll blame anything on me, unless I ask him to just to get out of school. :-)

I really pissed everyone off on my last day. Here is the contence of a batch file that I ran and left running on a few computers around the school:

@Echo off
cls
:bob
cls
net send * <Cant remember what i put here. Something witty though :)>
goto bob

Harmless, yet very annoying :).

Very cute.  Maybe I should do that the last day of my Senior year.  I know a few holes.. using IE.. which naturally gives you full administrative rights. *cough*

ive made the same repeating batch using a different method before, i think i posted it on this board several times

but i did

run bob.bat

then saved the file as bob.bat
then replaced all the my computer icons on the desktop with bob.bat, i only did this to one room, the library at my highschool. but it was funny when the freshman tried to use the computers, they were getting blamed for messing with stuff they shouldnt.
