I just formatted my c drive to re install windows, and I needed to install my scanner drivers again.

The scanner is a Relisis Scorpio Super 3 (read: the biggest piece of shit scanner ever. and it's about 4 years old).

The drivers come on two floppies, so I run the setup program on disk 1, it installs 1%, then i get the comedy error message:

"C:\CONFIG.SYS not found!"

On the c drive, there is a Config.sys, Config.ctl and CONFIG.BAK, but they are all empty, 0 bytes.

I tried renaming Config.sys to CONFIG.SYS

The computer restarts ok and everything else is running smoothly.

This has never happened before, the twenty or so times i have re installed this scanner (on clean hard disks most times).

Help!

edit: it's windows me

Config.sys is used to load drivers into memory when you load dos. It is not needed at all on windows ME.
You should invest in a new scanner mate :).
Listen to Starfyre's advice, he has this annoying habbit of always being right :).

This is a game forum, not a windows help forum. Might I suggest you try Microsoft's web page and help desk?

Wow, ease up! He has just come here to ask the very clever people who play Uplink for help. That was not a crime last time I checked....

It wasn't a Virus scanner. He means a scanner (like a Flatbed).

I got a link for you:

And I must say, best one ever.
