UPLINK Agent Aliases mod
Author: Ken Buckler (bljedi5@aol.com)
About this file:
This file changes all the hacker aliases to some names that should be
a bit more familiar from the Uplink forums.
Note you will have to start a new user for the changes to take place.
I made this mod just as a little way of saying thanks to the community for
helping to make the game what it is today, and keeping me playing!
This game has a loyal following, and I love it.
Install:
Unzip into your Uplink directory, and make sure "Use folder names"
is checked.
Legal: You may not modify and/or redistribute this file
without the permission of the author.
All user names are taken from the Uplink Directory
at http://uplink.stewsburntmonkey.com/.

As far as associating names with pics, the answer is yes and no. First off, all the databases list the hackers by their "real names", which are randomly generated using two name lists. The names are then randomly assigned a picture.
So, yes I can put in pictures from the Uplink Directory, BUT until the developer CD is released there's no way to associate the names with the pictures.
Of course, once the developer CD comes along, you can expect some good things from me, since I have 5+ years programming experience under my belt.

In response to the list being too long, I don't believe it is. I think that the way uplink is programmed, if the list is over the needed length, it gets random names.
I say this because a new user I started today had __Mystri__ and Azrael as two of the top agents, and they are on opposite ends of the list.
