Gamespy had a small feature on it, played the demo and loved it to bits - you just can't go wrong at that price either.

It's one of othe most polished games I've played in a long while - so much thought has so clearly gone into every aspect of it.

Pretty much everyone I've asked to.

I've sent somebody *coughcoughScissorscoughcough* to go 'talk' things over with them.

I bought it and continue to play it so I can be part of the forumns, without the game, Neo / Xander / Monty would be wondering why I am here, but with the game it is ok to read and comment on their combined 7k posts :D

I figure when I get to 1% of total posts they will accept me as one of their own, and IV will let me beta undefwenia(likely misspelled but...I'm so lazy)...

well I was Uplink addicted ;) at some time I see the news/screenshots for Defcon on the IV Homepage and I was thinking that would be a cool Game, so I downloaded the Demo, played some rounds and ordered a box Version :) That would be 21 Euros including the shipping, in my opinion a good price (and as I'm employed in the "game industry" I think it's a fair price).

Saw the old skool look of the game on a screenshot...Fell in love at once

Then I played the demo...And I was completely soled. Kept starting up a new game till 2 in the morning.
Next day I bought it via steam under 20€ !!!! Mmmh Live can be sweet ;)

Until we meet on the battlefield

I wanted a game with a neon-look wraparound world map, preferably with major cities represented thereon. Another stipulation was that there would need to be silos which could either be in air defence or launch mode, but also airstrips whence bombers and fighters could act out their parts in a war-like scenario. I also needed a game with submarines which could fire nuclear weapons within the range of a clearly marked circle, but only when surfaced which would of course make them vulnerable, but I was quite adamant. There would also need to be a navy consisting of destroyers and carriers that double as sub-hunters. And if the game had radar that would be it - i'd buy it. I was lucky to find in Defcon a game that fulfilled all these desires and with a weeping woman, and particularly fortunate as I had only started to think about wht kind of game I would like about a month ago. So I bought it, and I have to say it more or less matches my specifications.

What made me want to buy the game? It was the KILLING, the Burning and the killing! Bwahaha, eat gamma radiation little children.

In seriousness though, I liked the look of the game strategically.

A friend of mine said he played it and I should check out a demo.

Got the demo,

After 5 hours of solid playing I bought the game!

Yay! \o/ I keep trying to persuade my housemates to play DEFCON as well, but none of them are really gamers. And the one who has tried said it's "very hard".

A torrent site. I hadn't even heard of the game until I saw it on a private tracker, (was the "review" version), and after I saw it was Introversion that made it, I had to buy it.....Was a bit torn at first as I didn't like Darwinia, Uplink kicked serious ass, though

it was the excellence of darwinia and uplink that convinced me. not that I needed much convincing, I bought it as soon as I saw it was available. I even panicked and bought it on steam right away, but then I changed my mind and got a refund, bought from IV site a week later.
