What made you buy DEFCON?
Moderator: Defcon moderators
I bought it and continue to play it so I can be part of the forumns, without the game, Neo / Xander / Monty would be wondering why I am here, but with the game it is ok to read and comment on their combined 7k posts
I figure when I get to 1% of total posts they will accept me as one of their own, and IV will let me beta undefwenia(likely misspelled but...I'm so lazy)...

well I was Uplink addicted at some time I see the news/screenshots for Defcon on the IV Homepage and I was thinking that would be a cool Game, so I downloaded the Demo, played some rounds and ordered a box Version That would be 21 Euros including the shipping, in my opinion a good price (and as I'm employed in the "game industry" I think it's a fair price).

I wanted a game with a neon-look wraparound world map, preferably with major cities represented thereon. Another stipulation was that there would need to be silos which could either be in air defence or launch mode, but also airstrips whence bombers and fighters could act out their parts in a war-like scenario. I also needed a game with submarines which could fire nuclear weapons within the range of a clearly marked circle, but only when surfaced which would of course make them vulnerable, but I was quite adamant. There would also need to be a navy consisting of destroyers and carriers that double as sub-hunters. And if the game had radar that would be it - i'd buy it. I was lucky to find in Defcon a game that fulfilled all these desires and with a weeping woman, and particularly fortunate as I had only started to think about wht kind of game I would like about a month ago. So I bought it, and I have to say it more or less matches my specifications.
