At last, Monty Python and the Holy Grail gives us a solution to the problems of:

Why do missiles arc the way they do?
Why can't they go over the poles?
What shape -is- the world, anyway?

It's not spherical, cylindrical, or even toroidal.

It's banana-shaped!

Hmm, I -could- add an island in the shape of a sheep's bladder. That would prevent earthquakes.
