Quote: from Foxman on 4:29 pm on Nov. 25, 2002[br]Would you believe I've got to stay in after school until 10:00 for every day next week (including a school holiday) to shift lights and scenery - possibly including a weekend? Ooh, ooh and that's not the best part. The BEST part is that I'm not allowed to use this as an excuse for not doing homework (or doing it badly). I'm staying after school until 10:00 and I then have to do over an hour of homework - and do it WELL?!?! Oh, and let's not forget the 40 minute journey back. And it's not even a bloody punishment! ARRGHH!!!!!
:angry::confused::angry::confused::angry::confused::angry::confused:

You could always just NOT turn up, go home when you want, whats the school gonna do, say that your on detention, surely thats less time in school. Or they could suspend/expell you with the excuse "He didn't turn up for extra-cirricular activities, which he isn't paid for, that lasts so long into the nigh it WILL affect his homework and social life, without adding to his schooling or knowelege." Yea right! But then thats whats schools for, it breaks your spirit so you don't kill yourself when you find out how bad real work is, the amount of money the government takes from you, being submissive to the capitilist way of thinking (companys ca have huge profits while still paying their workers shit money and laying them off), and beliving that the measly wage you get is worth it.

I'm lucky, I get to do nothing all day claming JSA :P till I get a full time job :S

I used to have Rock Eisteddfod rehearsaly  5 times a week (after school till 5:15 4 weeknights, all sunday (Set construction, move sets over to gym and wait for the dancers)) and it wasn't that bad.  Even though we were one of the best schools, and none of the good schools even placed.  Weribee won, and they were the crappest school there.  [/rant]  Anyway, I suppose it all depends on whether it's voluntary and the people you're doing it with.  Bad luck I suppose then Foxman :(

15miles from school, OMG, that is *so* far..
It takes me far longer than that to get to school..

If it is compulsory, get your folks to give an excuse, as I said before,
e.g. - It is far too incovenient to collect our child at that late time, so you can shove the after school activity up your...
They can't really argue can they? I'm sure the school'll go to all the trouble to collect you from home and then drop you off again..
