Ok, 8269 members, minus people who have warezed, people who have multiple user names, people who just use the demo, and trolls who have no link with the game and come here just to piss us off. No go and rework the maths.....

Well lets do the math then. Around 13,000 copies of Uplink have been sold. Let's say each copy costs $30. So 13,000 x $30 = $390,000. I'm not sure how much that would be in pounds. That is not counting the money they have made from the bonus disk, which I'm sure isn't nearly as much as.
There is no patch for human stupidity.

Um... Uplink is £20 now, and twas £15 before that, =>
if we take 13000 * 15 we get 195k and 13000 * 20 we get 260k...
so its probably something in the realms of 200-230k total gross income. We can assume that thier living expences were quite low, since Chris etc were working on Uplink along with a full-time job. I dont know how long Uplink has been in development, so we cant really knock much off for living expences.
As for production costs, we can assume most of the £5 increase for the DVD case has actually gone on the new packaging, and that each CD and box contents would cost about, say, £2 or something through mass production... so we can probably guess they mad more allong the lines of £170k net income...
Then of course, we have income tax... and thats well into the high level taxes, so we drop to anything from 120k to 160k, but there again we need more info about if they payed it to themselves or still have the money in the company, or whatever etc.
Anyway... £280k pounds (or $400k) can become very little very quickly...
edit: Decided that teh exchange rate wasnt 0.0014 pounds per dollar...
