Now I'm running ME, but I'm thinking of going to XP but can't be botherd with the hassle of finding all my drivers and bits as well as playing all my games.

So what system are you all running 98, ME, 2k, XP, Linux.

Too many... ;)

I primarily use Windows XP and Mac OS X, but also have two Linux systems free (one running RH7.1, and my Mac dual-booting with YellowDog 2.3).

You probably won't have too much of a problem finding drivers for your XP system -- in fact, I'll bet basic (though still functional) drivers will be there from the start.  I'd upgrade with XP if I were you.
.what.

Running XP sp1 :( pro :) and RH 8.something, soon to be Mandrake 9 when I get the time ;)  XP is actually fairly good as far as drivers are concerned.  If you're really worried about problems, I recommend a full reinstall, not upgrade, as I had some problems with the upgrade.  As Spectere said, most of the drivers will already come with windows, and the rest, well it'll be the same drivers as for Win2k, so the manufacturers have had *plenty* of time to write new drivers.  Compatibility is fairly good too.  It's also more stable than previous versions, and it should be a *huge* improvement over Me if you can afford it.  Because of *course* you aren't going to pirate it ;)

XP home and Mandrake 8.2 on school machine
Mandrake 8.2 on other school machine
XP pro on laptop
XP home @ home
Mandrake 8.2 on server @ home
FreeDOS on really crappy machine @ home

Definitely upgrade to XP. Get XP pro if possible. ME really sucks ass.

Win NT Server 4.0 SP3 as a DNS server. FreeBSD as a devel server, and gateway/NAT/IPFW server. And Win98 for dialup access.

Sounds like a pretty nice setup you've got there, lattera.  How many computers are on your network?

My family has 4 computers. My two and the family one run ME, my sisters runs XP (pathetically on her Pentium 3).

I tried XP on mine but barely any games (including Uplink) failed to work. So I just retreated back to ME until I (hopefully) update my hardware.

Running Windows 2000 Pro on my server, my leisure pc, and my laptop.  Windows 2000 is the best for games, forget Windows XP.

Win98... My parents won't upgrade, thinking "if it's not broke, then don't fix it." They don't realise that win98 is  as broken as it is possible for an OS to be.... :(

I'm using Win98 SE, but only as my sloth-machine is too sloooooow (p1 133mhz, 32Mb) to run XP.
Roll on having all the cash together to build my planned dual boot P4 (Planned as 1.8Ghz, 256Mb, twin 40G Hd's booting XP Pro or Linux)
And no, my XP isn't pirated, it's licensed to my mothers company so put away the anti-warez monkey flamethrowers
