There seems to be some confusion about the site. Let me try to clear that up, so we can move back to the question on what happened to the project.
www.hackr.net appears to be owned by WolfLord, who used it to attract more people to some sort of vampire game.
http://www.computerpanorama.hu/cp/hackr/ is the real site. However, since around August 2002, the site has displayed the following message.

So... the question remains unanswered. What happened to HackR?
