I know I'm late to the party, but I really do have to take my hat off to the work being show cased in this thread. I've currently settled on the "Stealth-looking" plane, since I'm rather attached to IV's basic icons (I've been waiting months for them, see...), but the fidelity to actual schematics is impressive.
By which I mean it looks pretty.

A Sukoy model would be really appreciated. Thank you!

Apologise in advance for my complete lack of skill, but could someone please detail how to replace the ingame moddels with these? BTW, I am using the Steam version. Thanks!

OK - now I added the F15 and the F16. Although the F15 looks quite a bit like the F22, but that is the actual shape and with that small models they look a little alike. They are independent models though...

Somewhere deep in your SteamApps folder there should be some folder called defcon and there you have to extract the ZIP-files. A directory .\data\graphics will be created and the graphics are copied into that. Then you should be able to see them ingame. Everything else you find in the readme.txt of my archives.

It should be in every ZIP-archive which you can download on the first page of this thread.
just download the ZIP, open it and read the readme.txt...

I actually don't understand what your point is exactly... ;-)
Maybe you can explain a little better what you mean by that sentence.

I think he means editing the contrast and brightness of the graphic, the lines being the blueprint schematics

Well the answer is easy, I do not take the schematics as a graphic. I redraw the whole fighter/bomber. The thicker the lines, the brighter they are ingame.

Yeah I already figured out the last part

I thought you were re-drawing over schematics, and it's not that easy

I figured out a different way. I get the schematic, rub out all the pointless lines on the 'inside' of the plane and merge the plane with the back ground. I then select just the plane (using the magic wand) and copy + paste it into a new layer.

I add a outer glowto the outside of the plane, and if there are any panels on the inside of the plane I select those, copy + paste onto a new layer ang put a new glow :D It seems to work ok.

Result! A Ki 44 fighter :D

There's also a B52 bomber I made :/
