I just read some excellent articles about playing DOTA 2, and as per usual, it got me excited. (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012- ... e-part-one)
Anyone else up for learning to play this and playing together?

I've played LoL a bit, and played Dota 2 also for a bit, but I'm not very good. I've been looking for an excuse to play Dota 2 again (everyone I know is FAR TOO GOOD to let me play with them) so sure!
Steam name is shinygerbil, I'm busy today playing JoJo's Bizarre Adventure though

I played Dota 2 all of three times when I first got the invite. I was sufficiently wowed by it to realise that it was a good game, but I found it overtly complex. I hadn't a clue what I was doing, and tutorials on the Internet managed to confuse me even more: I'm unwilling to play a game again, because I don't want to let down the other members of my team -- it's evident that all team members need to pull their weight with the knife-edge balance (at least, I played before the store was added, I don't know if that changed things), and I'm not wanting to force them to lose 45 minutes of their time just so I can click random buttons hoping that they do something.

I bought the invite, so would be nice if we could join up, maybe the 3 of us at least? I'm on GMT +1. Just played it briefly, but understanding all the items you can buy and which ones to buy and when and how etc.. seems really daunting, but I guess if you just keep playing sooner or later you will learn it.
Cuz fuck logic
Well, it turns out I had an invite
EDIT: Nevermind, just me being ignant
EDIT: Ended up buying the invite. Now, are we promised the game when it's released, or do we have to buy it again? Couldn't find a game to play, maybe it's because I'm trying to search for a match at such a strange hour...
EDIT: GMT -6. PM me your user for Steam, if you want, Jordy.
