You can request the soundtracks, just drop them an e-mail when they've cooled down a bit.

I'd be interested in a tournament once I know how to play the game. . . .

I still probably suck (have yet to venture into the scary world of multiplayer), but I'm interested.

I'm definitely in!

As for settings, I'd suggest Dark Extermination, and either a set of custom made symmetrical maps or each pair of people fights three times to balance out random maps a little. I'd probably prefer the multiple games per pair, more games is always good!

Why not both? I just found out that in the "advanced" settings when issuing a challenge you have an option to generate a symmetrical map. We could easily make best of 3 in randomly generated symmetrical maps.

Aha, I didn't know that.

Maybe we should leave it up to the pair? You can play as many games as the two of you want, on whatever map settings you like - basically so long as you set the rules for your fight first, and can come back sometime later and say "Player X is better than player Y" it doesn't really matter.

Well... not quite. The end results may end up skewed unless all the players are using similar or identical conditions, since a player may end up losing a series, even if he would otherwise win a tournament, because he got a series of rules that did not favour him.

As such I would recommend at least a few fixed rules:
1) Everyone plays the same game modes
2) in each round, every match series is the same length (i.e. best of 3, best of 5, etc) unless one of the players concedes

Regarding maps I would suggest one of 2 things: Random symmetrical maps for everyone OR we have a map pool where the first map for every matchup is fixed with the loser picks the map for their next match from the pool

What about game modes? I guess the default everyone assumes is Dark extermination, but the other modes can be fun too.

Disputed, with symmetrical maps could be interesting?

In my humble opinion as highest ranked player among us.. 8) I recommend Charge as the game mode to play and Disputed.

Ex has no objective other then killing the opponent, meaning that without explosive guys it can become a camping match and/or being played extremely careful. Also all movements will be "random" with no deeper layer of thought behind them.

Secure can be fun, but sometimes it becomes just a game of distractions, what men will he use to distract me and with which will he shoot.

Hostage can be fun but extremely challenging for the defender, cause it's very hard to shoot both hostages when they split up, even a shotgunner has trouble managing that.

Dispute is fun I guess and a good mode, though not my favorite.

Charge is absolutely the best mode imo, cause you have to think out a plan of how best to use the terrain to your advantage and counter the enemy.

I like that Ex has no objective actually, there's a much wider set of possibilities which the enemy could be doing, and which you have to counter.

The only other modes I've played recently are charge and disputed, neither of which I particularly like. Disputed seems to encourage both teams to camp somewhere, and no one can do anything interesting, and charge definitely encourages that (of the defending team, making attacking very annoying)

I'm in. Just added my key to Steam. It's so much nicer than last time I played beta...
