Actually, since there's 365 days in the year, and half of that would be 182.5 days, the middle of the year would be around noon on July 2nd. Midnight of July 2nd during a leap year.

You're out by 6 hours, in theory. Since there's 365.242199 days in a year (but we shall call it 365.25 for ease of maths), .25 of a day is 6 hours. So in theory, on non-leapyear days, it would be 6pm on 2nd July, and on a leap year I can't be fucked to work out which way the error goes.

Anyways, my point was that the center of the year was pretty far off from June 15th. As it still falls within a few hours of where I stated it was, no matter how you round the answer, I'll resist arguing the point further.

Wouldn't your theory actually mean the centerpoint of the year would fluctuate slightly depending on which year before the leap year it was?
