* 5 hours ago: Following new legislation in FlagFeud, international organisations everywhere are united in their condemnation of the nation's zombified military (Feud has found 2 easter eggs).

I see you went with 3.

Well, it's time for the WorldVision 11 National Finals, and I need a few songs that could have made to the WorldVision Song Contest. I also need some sort of voting procedure. So, suggestions for song names and singer/band/performing artist are welcome. :D

Also, here is the winning song from Maxia Zeta that will entered once the competition begins. Names for the song/band are welcome here too. I've thought about "Cold Wind" by <some interesting name here>. Now, I'm in it to win it, but humor is ok too.

The entire stadium grows dark. The crowd goes completely silent as the first few chords of the intro come alive from an electric guitar, along with the sound of wind blowing. The intro grows in speed and power and ends with an explosion of sparks and light as the rest of the band comes into view. At the same moment, drums join the music, perfectly in sync. The lights fade, but remain, focused on the band as the music fades to a soft tune, a gritty voice joins in, the figure standing alone, with mic stand in front....

[softly, as the entire band plays]

You know I never expected life to be this way
Those golden years seem so long ago,
They promised so much more to come some day
Now, all that I can feel is the touch of the cold wind blow

[band picks up power and pace]

Darlin', I thought you said we'd go on forever
All the memories we gathered, all the love we gained
Trying to slip away from us, return to sender
I won't let go of you, won't forget, won't be restrained!

Look at what you've done to me
Look at what you've done to us
Open your eyes and tell me what you see!
Open you eyes and see this ragged mess!

[90 second electric guitar riff, crowd goes wild]

Here I stand before you once more today
When I walk away, will you follow?
Here I shudder like the lost boy you once saved
When I think of you, will I be hollow?

You know I never expected life to end this way
Those golden years seem so long ago,
They promised so much more to come some day
Now, all that I can feel is the touch of the cold wind blow

Your body tells me to move on
Your lips won't tell me it'll be alright
I can't tell you how I'll be while your gone
I can't tell you I'll make it through the night

How I wish we could begin again
We could do things right from the start
It crushes my soul to here that amen
Crushes every part of my empty heart

[band slows it's pace, back up singers sing join vocals]
[spotlight shines on lone figure, slowly approaching end of stage]
[figure, leans down to place flower on coffin that has appeared]

One last flower to place in your hair
You know I'll never forget what you've given
One last goodbye to fill the air
You know I'll go on, my head still spinning

You know I never expected life to be this way
Those golden years seem so long ago,
They promised so much more to come some day
Now, all that I can feel is the touch of the cold wind blow

[band stops, only the noise of wind blowing can be heard as the lights fade completely]

Isn't that a bit long? It's supposed to be a song contest after all :P

Now... Song/band names formed of the top of my head in 30 seconds or less:

Madmen's paradise - by Raven Crows
Not that kind of Love - by Better Name
Add me up - by Sum Guy

True, but it's all in-character and I think the stage performance plays into it as much as the song does.

I'm just mentioning it because in my experience with the IRL Eurovision contest most songs are probably barely longer than 90 seconds, much less having a 90 second instrumental part :P

Of course, worldvision probably doesn't have any rules on it.

A slight correction to my post: After a quick search and checking on youtube, it seems Eurovision songs are limited to 3 minutes max, and that seems to be about the length of the videos on youtube.

Even so, 90 seconds is still half of that :P
