Was this pure Genius or pure Luckiness?

The Uplink storyline, is very admittedly clever. I mean come on, destroy the internet with a super uber virus, or work your ass off to clean it up to hack another day? How genius is that? Or was it just luck that this storyline caught on so well? Your thoughts, opinions? Id love to hear.

Personally, I think it's Genius.

They obviously put a lot of time and thought in this story I think, with the company names and so forth. I can only be so amazed, but this takes the cake. Let me know what you guys think.

For all we know, the story's been brewing in Chris's head for years.

I don't think it's luck or genius - Chris would be familiar with the themes of cyberpunk, presumably figured the central story would have to be 'big' and directly engage the player rather than being just another job, and all the pieces fell together. He knew what he needed to achieve, and crafted a storyline to fit it.

Sure. Of course most of what you said is most likely true if not all of it. It's an intense and great storyline.

Uplink is about as close to real hacking as McDonalds is to fine cuisine.

Yes, it is. But nobody says that Uplink is a simulator. It's just a game for fun and that's it. But, imho, not an easy one. I haven't completed it yet)
