Out of pure curiosity, Xocrates tries to push the "x" in the word external.

Result: Nothing happens.

As a trained archaeologist, I can tell you with certainty that X never marks the spot.

Oh. /me blames the combination of time traveling puzzle designer obviously using automatic translation services from the future and my translator not really being a native speaker for the error. Also, I got one letter wrong in the transcription. Drat.

zjoere pushes the circles, perhaps thinking they are "x's" (?).

MarvintheParanoidAndroid is the first to succumb to the effects of having no food or water for the past 48 hours (which is when the rations were used up).

It is plane that if the group doesn't stop getting distracted by wild tangents, they'll all die soon enough.

MarvintheParanoidAndroid is now unconscious, he has 24 hours to be rescued, or die.

Well, on the plus side, in 24 hours we'll have some extra food.

I suppose that means my geometry is out, it's all tangents :/ Maybe it's the closest equivalent of the letter X in arabic? That would be س, the last (leftmost) letter in the text. If that was complete on any of the panels, I'd press that. But it isn't, and it has nothing to do with the poem.

Apparently, this room is a race against time. The only deathtrap seems to be starvation. So scramble and do something!

bert, eager to save the group (or at least her own skin), attempts to find any way possible to create an 'x'. Unfortunately, pushing the spot chosen does nothing except disappoint.

Result: Nothing happens.
