The place to hang out and talk about totally anything general.

I DID have the keys to the CMS experiment. They might be gone. Jelco?

RabidZombie has keys to the CMS, he gets to control that one. Feud doesn't own the keys to ATLAS anymore, but to ALICE - that's the one he gets to control in this case.

Current positions:
ALICE - Feud
Control - Shwart!!
CMS - RabidZombie
LINAC3 - Pox (the last one with these keys in the game)

ATLAS and LINAC2 are still unoccupied, there are two people owning keys for both of the installations. If I don't see people owning up for these by evening, random picks ensue. ;)

And I'll take LINAC2, assuming I still have the keys.

Redundancy, appropriate for us scientific types. :P

ALICE - Feud
ATLAS - mibias
Control - Shwart!!
CMS - RabidZombie
LINAC2 - LlamaBoy (random pick)
LINAC3 - Pox (the last one with these keys in the game)

MarvinPA currently owns keys to the CMS, so I decided to finish it with a random pick.

Right, time for the ending scenario - each of you people controlling installations will have to PM me with your decisions.
- The persons handling the LINACs have to pick the correct tanks to insert (H2 in the LINAC2, ions in the LINAC3)
- The person at the control desk will decide which chain to use (the proton series or ion series)
- The people at each detector's control desk have to decide whether to turn them on or not

If I understand correctly, you just have to make the right choice and it's up to the ADA's to throw a monkey wrench into things.

jelco wrote:At the end is where everything comes into play, and it is the outcome of this final day that the entire game will decide.

- The people at each detector's control desk have to decide whether to turn them on or not

How does this all come into play? The idea of the ADA members is to get their own people at certain control points where they can take decisions that can destroy the accelerator/detector complex. This can be done by:
- Inserting protons in the LINAC3 or ions in the LINAC2 and turning on the 'correct' accelerator chain which will damage the injection accelerators
- Turning on the wrong detectors (ATLAS or CMS for ions, ALICE for protons) damaging the detectors

Meh.

Well, Feud, your call. Tell me what I need to activate.

Shwart!!
